Today, the Japanese government has takena decision of spending around 24.7 trillion yen - about $ 250 billion overthe next five years on its military needs.
These funds will be allocated in the2014-19 fiscal years. Thereby, Tokyo has renounced its policies to reduce onmilitary spending, being followed over the last decade, citing the need tocounter the increasing military might of China and the nuclear missile programof DPRK. According to the new strategy, it is also expected over the time toreassess and actually cancel the previous ban on export of military equipmentand technology. Tokyo also plans to ease restrictions on the deployment oftheir troops abroad.
