外文标题：chinese ships in disputed waters on China's National Day: Japan
TOKYO: Chinese ships sailed into Tokyo-controlled waters on Tuesday as Beijing celebrated its National Day and as Japan and the United States prepare for talks on their defence pact.Four vessels from the Chinese coastguard entered the 12-nautical-mile territorial waters of the Senkaku islands at around 9.00am (0000 GMT) and stayed for about six hours before leaving, the Japanese coastguard said.
China calls the islands the Diaoyus and says they belong to Beijing. The incursion came as US secretary of defense Chuck Hagel and secretary of state John Kerry prepare to head to Tokyo for a meeting on Thursday with Japanese counterparts Itsunori Onodera and Fumio Kishida.
Japan's hawkish Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants Tokyo to play a more self-confident role on the world stage and for its military to shoulder more of the burden of the defence pact with Washington.

Japanese following Indian style! No action or reaction! Chinese coast guard ships entered Japanese territory and stayed there for about 6 hours.

The Chinese action is akin to a bather testing the water with a toe. The bather enters the bath only when the water is just right.

Really can't compare Japan with India. India will fight blood and tooth for their land. India has nothing to lose while the Chinese have everything to lose. As in the case of Japan, they have played their chess incorrectly. They have everything to lose no matter how they make their next move. Suggest they make no move nor sound. Let the situation as per status quo. Don't ever bring the subject up again. US will not always by Japan side but China is just a stone throw away from her.

Lol - "India will fight blood and tooth for their land". What has India done in response to alleged hundreds of incursions into socalled Indian territory by China's PLA?

Both the co0untries have their personal interest and the dispute can not be solved by showing their might to other. If the dispute can not be solved amicably, they should go to inter nation court, but no one like this idea.

China is an expansionist nation. Army, Navy and Airforce of all sides are given targets to meet..

China perhaps finds it difficult to hold its newly-acquired power. U.S. almost single-handedly dominated the 20th century and continues to do so even now. But it maintains fairly congenial relations with its neighbors. In contrast, China has seen good times only in the last few years and already it has made quite a few new enemies. Chinese leadership needs to focus instead on seeing their progress penetrate in to the masses. Only then can its prosperity be sustained. But that is something that needs their borders to be quiet...

I only disagree with the assertion "U.S. almost single handedly dominated the 20th century ." I should say: ..."dominated the latter half of the 20th century." Just that, nothing more.

China seems to have a territory which belongs to 'them' being 'held' by every one of her neighboring countries....when will it wake up from its egoist show of power dream world..??
