Q: Were the Zerg playable at BlizzCon?

A: Zerg hasn’t even been put in the build for QA yet.

-在BlizzCon上能玩到虫族吗?

Q: Is the Nuke beacon the same size as it was at the World Wide Invitational?

A: The Ghost nuke beacon is HUGE and the only way to stop it is kill the ghost.

-原子弹定位标记还像在WWI上演示的那么大吗?

-鬼兵的原子弹定位标记十分庞大,能阻止核打击的唯一方式是杀死鬼兵。


Q: Do Barracks and Gateways require gas to build?

A: Barracks and Gateways do not take gas to make, but the expansion does.

Q: Were Reavers really taken out of the game?

A: Reevers were taken out of the game, but their abilities were put on different units.

They are doing this with a lot of units apparently, so you aren’t losing the abilities.

Q: Do Stalkers have a cool down on blink?

A: Yes, it’s around 5-6 seconds.

Q: Any new information on the Nydus Worm?

A: The Nydus worm can pop up anywhere.. it doesn’t have to be on creep. But it works like

the ghost nuke, you place a beacon and a few seconds later it pops up.

-关于地下虫洞有什么新消息吗?

-地下虫洞可以在任何位置突然出现。它不需要虫族的地面建筑黏液。和鬼兵的原子弹机制类似,你只需放置一个标记,几秒后它就会骤然冒出地面。


Q: In the Worldwide Invitational video it showed Zerglings turn green for the ‘GG’, what

was happening?

A: Those are definitely baneling eggs. In another full screen video demo playing at

BlizzCon, you could see brown zergling go into the green cocoon and hatching out as a green

baneling that moves around by rolling.

Q: Does the Soul hunters laser stay at level 3 forever?

A: The Soul Hunters laser only charges up on one target, imagine the Warp Ray only on the

ground.. so after you kill the unit, it resets back to level 1. This is mainly going to be

used as a building killer. Get some Warp Ray and Soul Hunters and you destroy everything.

Please note: I’ve been told that the Soul Hunters were taken out of the game, but I

definitly had a conversation about them so they may be making a comeback. When I spoke to

the Blizzard Representative he mentioned that the graphic wasn’t working properly and they

were thinking of making it change colors instead of getting thicker. Keep your eyes peeled

for this unit in the future.

A: You can now have multiple mother ships, but the black hole was taken out of the game.

Q: Was Auto-cast in the game? If so, what units had it and was it game breaking?

A: Yes, auto-cast was in the game. The only unit that I saw that had it were Medics and it

wasn’t that game breaking. I turned it off and used it manually.

-游戏中有自动施法功能吗?如果有,什么单位拥有这一功能,是否会破坏游戏性?

Q: Can you set a rally point to a mineral or gas field?

A: Yes, ALA Warcraft 3, a rally point set on a mineral field will have the units auto

gather.

Q: Do marines still have Stimpacks?

A: Yes, they work the same way as Starcraft: Brood War.

Q: Were firebats in the game?

A: No, Reevers replaced them to an extent but they are not in the game anymore and there

isn’t any plan to put them back.

Q: Any clue what the System specs are going to be?

A: The Blizzard representative said that the game is currently running in DirectX 9.0c,

with a minimum of 1 GB RAM and he was unsure about the rest of the specs.

Q: Are the colossus overpowered, or are they glass cannons?

A1: They are really strong, one of the representatives said “Once you get colossus, it’s

good game.” While they definitely have their counters (Banelings) they are really strong.

I would assume that Immortals and Vikings would be good against them though.

A2:Colossus were definitely fine. They have a specific niche in the Protoss army. They look

big and strong but they come at a hefty price.

Q: How were the sounds? (Anssu)

A1: The Protoss sounds were amazing and it felt great hearing them. However, 10 marines and

4 Vikings firing on one building can get annoying after a while. This may be personal

preference.

A2:Sounds were definitely a familiar sense from SC:BW. Stalkers retained the dragoon death

sound, probes meow the same, marines get the same high off stim packs, etc.

-音效方面情况如何?

Q: Can you hotkey all of your army to one hot key? Or is there a limit? (prodiG)

A: 30 unit limit per hotkey. I assume it would be the same with buildings, but I didn't

have a chance to test by binding 30 buildings into 1 hotkey.

Q: Do units turn around to fire like in Warcraft 3 or do they auto fire like in Brood War?

A: They work the same way as Brood War units do, no lag when turning to fire.

-单位转身射击的方式和WC3类似还是和SC1一样自动射击?

-他们运行的机制和SC1完全一样,转身射击的过程中没有任何延迟。

Q: If you drop units, do they fire quick like with drop ships? (TL-IntoTheWow)

A1: I didn’t test out the drop ships to much, but with the Stalkers blink ability, after

they blinked they were firing withing a few milliseconds. I assume drop ships are the same

way.

A2: Almost no cooldown when you dropped a Protoss unit from a Phase Prism. Didn't test with

Terran dropship.

-空降的时候,单位是否会迅速攻击,像SC1里的运输机空投那样?

-回答1:我没有太多地试验运输机,不过就追踪者地闪烁技能而言,他们能在闪烁完成后地几毫秒内迅速

Q: Can you hot key multiple buildings, and can you set a rally point for all buildings at

one time? (TL-IntoTheWow)

A: You can set as many buildings as you want to one hot key. If you have all buildings hot

keyed and you set a rally point, all of them rally to that point.

-能给多个建筑编队吗?能否一次性给所有建筑设置集结点?

-用一个热键你想编几个建筑就可以编几个。如果你把所有建筑编成一队,然后设定集结点,他们的集结点将指向同一个地方。


Q: Were Carriers playable? (TL-Kennigit)

A1: Yes, the developers said that when people were asked their favorite unit in Starcraft,

Carriers were near the top and removing them would be very detrimental to the game.

A2: Carriers definitely had the same feel as in SC:BW. Though I'll comment that the

interceptors look much smaller in SC2

-能玩到航母吗?

Q: Can you blink up cliffs, or does it work like a World of Warcraft Mages Blink where you

can only go in a straight line?

A1: You can blink anywhere that is visible (and trust me, I tried to blink to unreachable

areas). That means if you are being chased by Zerglings, run your stalkers to a cliff and

blink to the top of it and the Zerglings have to run around to kill them.

A2: You can only blink Stalkers to where you have a line of sight. I also tried to blink up

onto a cliff expo that I couldn't see and it didn't work. Bring an observer along though,

and blinking anywhere is possible.

-能闪烁到高地上吗?还是和WOW中法师的闪烁技能一样,只能瞬移到能够直接到达的地方?

-回答1:你可以闪烁到任何有视野的地方(相信我,我曾经尝试过闪烁到无法到达的区域)。这意味着如果你的追踪者被小狗追击,你可以让它们跑到高地边上,然后闪烁上去,小狗想追的话就得绕路走。

Q: How much energy does Blink cost? (TL-dronebabo)

A: Blink costs nothing, just has a cooldown of about 5 seconds. It's teched at the Twilight

Council (Citadel of Adun equivalent)

Q: If you blink a group of stalkers into a small around between a building and another

building. What happens?

A: The Stalkers will blink and surround the building. Very useful for a quick surround to

get that building down.

Q: Will Starcraft 2 require Windows Vista?

A: “Absolutely not.”
